The Fork & Road Standard
Every candidate must clear our initial quality gate. Inclusion then depends on a specific, evidence-backed reason to stop: a signature dish, distinctive preparation, regional specialty, house-made program, credible recognition, or meaningful local history.
The detour rule
Every published stop must fit within a 30-minute round-trip detour. That includes the drive from the highway to the restaurant and back to the route.
Editorial independence
Restaurants cannot pay to enter or improve their position in our recommendations. Advertising and affiliate relationships, when present, are kept separate and clearly labeled.
